What comes after obsession?

Well, since I haven't updated in over a month, I guess I should put down some notes on what's been happening. And then I think about it and realize that I have done nothing but snowboard so I'll just write a log of my trips. I'm currently at 17 days (should be 18 but I'll get into that later). 23 more days till I reach this season's goal. Well, one of this season's goals.

Resolutions? None really. Even if I did have any, it's just wishful thinking. I never follow through on anything haha.

Intensely Snow Related Post

It's October already, and that means WINTER IS AROUND THE CORNER. This post is highly snow related so if you can't stomach it, skip to the end lol. I should really move this stuff over to my snow blog, but I'll probably just end up duplicating the information there anyways haha.

I bought a camera (Round 2)

Wow, so the last time I bought a camera was in the year 2000 (7 years and 8 months?). It was a Canon S10 and cost me a bucket load of money. In fact, I think I spent like $900 for the camera, $100 for an extra battery and the 64 mb compact flash memory card I bought cost me $260! Fast forward... I bought a Canon SD1000 (Seems I only buy cameras that have names starting with 'Canon S' and end with an odd number of '0's) at Futureshop for $259, as well as a 4gb sdhc card for $100 more or so. Talk about progress... Let's compare the 2:
S10SD1000
Cost$900$259
Megapixels27.1
Max Res1600x12003072 x 2304
SizeHand SizedREALLY Small

Anyways, it's pretty good and lets me take videos up to I think 1 hr long (within the 4gb file size limit). So now I can at least take some pictures/videos of the snowboarding season that's FAST APPROACHING! Oh, and yes, I already dropped it (dropped it when I first openned the box, sigh ;;)
Here's a sample video I took to test things out (it's compressed. The original was higher quality but also 300 mb;;).

Update: I was going to embed the video here but I realize that I don't like doing that, so you'll have to click this link to watch the video.

In other news, I forgot to bring my razor with me to Edmonton this week ;; I should really put my photo gallery back up, but man, it's just so much work haha.

Another month gone by already?

Okay so I've been wanting to write another entry here for a while now but I never seemed to find any time in the day to do it. That's probably surprising because I've also been working in Deadmonton since the last time I posted. I guess that's as good a place to start out though.

Brief Update

Don't really have much time to write anything so I'll give a brief update. I got my White Sail 2 last weekend. Dinghy sailing is really fun. I highly suggest it to everybody. I'm going to take the White Sail 3 course next weekend and hopefully be able to get my Bronze 5 before the end of the summer. Sailing gloves are by far the best investment EVER. That and spray smocks. And floating sunglasses. There's so much to learn. Even learning the names of stuff is messed up. Even learning the names of the different types of Cleats (Horn, Cam, Jam, Tube, Clam).

Luminato and Stuff

How is Luminato pronounced exactly? Is it LOO-MIN-UHH-TEE-OH, LOO-MIN-UHH-TOE, LUH-MIN-AYE-TOE?? Anyways, Luminato started last weekend. It was pretty cool.
Friday: Went to check out the free Chantal Kreviazuk openning concert (Molly Johnson was there too). That was pretty cool. Amie and Houston showed up late since they were giving a tour for out of towners, but they got some really good pictures of Chantal after she had her performance.
Saturday: Headed to the distillery district and listenned to a concert there by Luis Mario Ochoa & CimarrĂ³n. It sucked that the sound equipment was horribly set up though. Luis Mario was kind of mad too and even made a statement or two about the poor quality of the sound. They had sound balancing issues, and mics that didn't work, and a lot of distortion, and a lot of noise from the sound from the speakers being picked up by the mics again. Anyways, Luis Mario was pretty good even if the sound equipment sucked. It was also pretty hot that day. Especially by the time we had finished walking around the Distillery District. We then took the L'Art Boat from the Distillery District and headed to Harbourfront and walked around there and eventually went to Salad King for a sort of rushed dinner.

Lack of Updates

Ok I haven't updated in a long time, but I've decided that I'm not going to filter things from being added to the news posts. I'm just going to start posting links and stuff to basically everything I see and think is cool regardless of whether it was linked to or stuff on sites I think are more frequented than mine (which is basically every site I know of). As a result, everything is going to scroll by really fast throughout the day. I mean, hopefully, if I can keep up the pace I mean. Time to play catch up.

End of the Season Fo'real

2006/2007 Lift Tickets
Cut off my lift tickets from my jacket tonight. All 14 of them lol. Would have been 15 but I cut off the 1st ticket of the season (that had blood on it, and was a beginner's pass that was only valid for green runs lol). If you count it up... that equals 18 days (19 days if you count the 1 day we missed out on boarding on the Mont St Anne trip) of snowboarding. Just 2 days short of the 20 day goal of the season (well, 1 day if you count how many days I paid for lol). Even threw in a picture of Martin getting up after he wiped out just gliding to the edge of the hill after getting off a lift haha. Good times. Now to wash this dirty dirty dirty jacket. Eww... maybe I need a new one next season haha.

And now we sit and wait... 7 months... sigh.

Next season's goal: 31 days (1 complete month of boarding!)

Yesterday I rode Option. Today I ride GNU.

GNU Rider's Choice 157.5 MTX Newspaper Grey
GNU Rider's Choice Magnetraction 157.5 (haha, my open source snowboard . . .). Now I need bindings... Hmmm Flow Teams, Bent Metal Restraint, or Flux Diamond 2's.
